May 31: World No Tobacco Day

Every year on May 31, health professionals and organizations worldwide unite to observe World No Tobacco Day, a global initiative led by the World Health Organization (WHO). This annual event emphasizes the urgent need to address the health harms caused by tobacco, unveil industry influence, and promote effective, evidence-based interventions.

SOPHE Supports Quitting at Every Stage of Life

The World Health Organization emphasizes support for quitting as a powerful method to break this cycle. At SOPHE, we recognize that providing support for quitting during pregnancy is essential to this effort.

SCRIPT®: Cessation Support During Pregnancy

When a pregnant person quits tobacco, they aren’t just making a healthy choice for themselves—they’re giving their child a stronger start and laying the foundation for a tobacco-free future. SOPHE’s SCRIPT®, for Smoking Cessation and Reduction in Pregnancy Treatment, equips providers and public health professionals to deliver effective tobacco cessation counseling tailored to pregnant patients.

With SCRIPT® Training, you can:

  • Integrate cessation into prenatal care
  • Build sustainable, equitable programs
  • Support Medicaid-eligible services
